hi,
I currently have 2 dir-612(basically the cheaper and Asian version of the 615), one as my main router and one as my AP, I'm planning to change my main router to a Netgear CG3100D-2BPAUS because it has USB ports and support for USB hard drives and they're sold for really cheap, my question is how do you configure an access point to match the main routers IP address?, I currently have one of the main router's LAN port connected to the AP's WAN port, some people told me to connect the main router's LAN to the AP's LAN and turn off DHCP, but when I try that my AP's IP address changed from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.10, they're both configured with the same SSID and password to seamlessly change networks.

Thank you for taking your time to read this,
Tristan.

You really need to start from basics.

Does your current configuration work?

If so.
Turn off your current router and disconnect.
Turn on your new router and configure it as a replacement Same DHCP settings SSID etc.

Your AP should not require any changes as it should connect as it did for the original.

Normally your AP will get an DHCP address from the main router, you don't have to give it an IP address. I am assuming that the AP router is actually configured in AP mode.

The fact that you have an AP means nothing for access to the HDD connected on the main router - if you connect to it while conneted directly (Ethernet or Wireless), you should be able to connect thru AP as well (provided that second router is configured as AP, with DHCP disabled, LAN-to-LAN, different SSID).
