3 pin fan compatibility

I was planning on getting either the Kraken X72 or the 150i. I was going to replace the fans on the radiator with Corsair af120 fans. These fans are 3 pin. Would these fans work with either of these radiators? My mobo is a Crosshair 7.

If you connect your AF120 fans directly to your MoBo then yes, you can operate them on a rad just fine.

Though, why would you considerably handicap cooling performance of your AIO with poor airflow fan which isn't designed for static pressure at all and would do extremely poorly when mounted on a rad?
When to think about it, there is no worse fan than AF120 to mount on a rad.

I'm assuming this is so you can have LED fans.

If so you need to buck up and get the ML 120 fans, they are proper 4 pin PWM fans that will be able to be controlled by the cooler. And they are static pressure not airflow like the AF 120 which is what you need for a Radiator.
