The model is ZyXEL P-2601HN-F1

This is what my IPConfig looks like:

Ethernet adapter Ethernet 3:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : lan
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::88bd:6777:f9b:954c%8
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.78
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.254

My internet works but I can't connect to the Default Gateway to change the settings. I've tried connecting to a range of different IP-addresses but none of them work. I've also tried physically resetting the router.

I've had access to the interface before since I did change the wireless network name and password, but as of right now there is no connection. If I try pinging the default gateway the result is:

Pinging 192.168.1.254 with 32 bytes of data:

Oh well then ur screwed, there is nothing u can do, except to run your own equipment. ISP's provided equipment tend to be like that, they have to support the said piece and don't want you to go in there, change things, it doesn't work, then have you call them.

After googling some more, I found other people having issues with the same router and ISP. It seems like the ISP has blocked the user interface of the router. If anyone knows how to bypass this, please message me.

A few years ago, (at least in Sweden,) when it was revealed that those routers had a built in backdoor password, most ISPs issued a patch to stop the backdoor. However that patch also locked out the users, who could not log in.

To alter any settings, you had to disconnect the router from the Internet and then reset it. After that you could log into it again, using the default password, and alter whatever settings you needed. When reconnecting to the Internet, the patch was downloaded again, but your settings were kept, though you were again stopped from logging into it.
