Hey!

Feel like im only ever on this forums when i see that lovely blue screen, this time however i THINK it is due to faulty drivers, however ive updated all of them and i still have the same blue screen. Was hoping i could dump my dmp files here and some genius on the internet will be able to help me isolate whats killing my pc and how i can fix it.

Thanks in advance

Jack

(not sure the best way to post DMP files but hope dropbox is ok)

Update: Crash again tonight, around the same time with the same error code, posting below some of what i assume is key from that DMP

Bug Check String: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Bug Check Code: 0x0000000a
Parameter 1: fffffac0`0c6e6d7e
" 2:00000000`00000002
"3:00000000`00000000
"4:fffff800`03696394
Caused by driver: ntoskrnl.exe
Caused by address: ntoskrnl.exe+939a0
Crash address: ntoskrnl.exe+939a0

Hope this helps

bugcheck was in
Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver

(most likely is going to be caused by a usb audio device plugged in the usb 3 port)

I would remove the overclock software

this driver is too old and does not know the proper voltages to use on your low power CPU.
(it will apply too high a voltage for any given clock rate)

remove

update your razer software to the current version

you should update the motherboard network driver
Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC
try this link:(website was down a few minutes ago)
www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=13&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

update the motherboard sound driver (look for a version from sept 2017 or newer
(because of a known bug)

Hey John,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, ive been trying different things back and forth trying to make it work and didnt want to close this as solved until i was sure. I would say the BSODs have definitely become less common, so something must have been going right from what you suggested.

Today however i crashed twice in the space of 3 hours both with different errors messages and for the life of me i cant work out why this is still happening. The only thing i couldnt work out from your previous post was how to remove the overclocking, as i didnt think i was running overclocking in the first place?

The error codes today are
1:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by driver nvlddmkm.sys

2:
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED caused by driver avgStm.sys

again i have attached a dropbox link with my DMP files and would appreciate any help because i feel like ive exhausted every solution to no avail. Thanks in advance,
Jack

basically this 2012 overclock driver does not know about low voltage cpus that you have.
it will apply the wrong voltage to your cpu for the given clock rate.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz
Launch Date
Q2'14

(most likely cause of the bugchecks, but you should remove all overclocking software until the problem is isolated)

you can download and run
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autoruns
find the hide microsoft entries, then find the old driver and delete the entry so it does not get run.
(you had two copies of the same driver running from different directories, each takes a turn at tweaking your cpu voltages, this is a common problem on msi motherboards, the move the directories over time and they don't check to see if there driver is already loaded during setup. they just put a note in the docs to tell you to uninstall the old version before installing the new one. pretty lame)
-------------

you have 3 overclocking drivers installed.

Hey thanks again for the quick response.

I downloaded the program and got rid of the 3 drivers you mentioned. Hopefully that solves the issue, it has been happening about 3 times a day recently so i should know soon enough if it has made an impact!

Thanks again

Jack

Hey again,

Sorry to keep getting back to you i feel terrible that i keep having to keep coming back for help and wouldnt hold it against you to just call it quits with this drama.

Like i said in my previous post i removed the 3 drivers you were talking about, or to my knowledge i did. On top of that i googled what drivers they came from, one was an MSI Supercharger thing for phones, and i uninstalled those programmes too. I also removed my Amplifier that i had plugged in as you said it coudlve been an audio cable in a USB, and i stopped charging my phone fromy my PC. However, regrettably, the mighty BSoD struck again.

Ill link the dropbox of these dumps, the 3 crashes from today, the file that is 110318-22526-01 is the dump from just a moment ago- so after i had done the changes you said. From what i can see this might be related to NVIDIA (???) but honestly im using this BlueScreenView and i just dont understand the sheer amounts of ffff and 000 otherwise i'd try and sift through it myself.

Thanks once again
Jack

memory dump still shows 3 overclock drivers.

generally you would apply the bios updates and the motherboard driver updated.
you need to remove the overclock drivers.
just not sure where you got your bios version since it does not match the version numbers i find when I look up your motherboard.

Hey John,

Gave it a week or so, trying to fix it daily and in fact i didnt get any BSoDs on the 4th or the 5th so thought i had made progress. However it got worse and since then ve had 7 more crashes. I went back through what you said, and tried to uninstall the overclocking again, i also uninstalled any programs i thought vaguely had any relation to overclocking and have been using less of my USB ports as that was in one of the blue screen reports.

When this still didnt work i went into my BIOS which is Click Bios 4 and tried to follow a guide on how to switch off overclocking, changing my CPU speed to match etc, i also turned off any of the active features on the OC Profile that sounded like they related back to overclocking.

I honestly dont know what to do at this point i feel like ive exhausted every option and its not getting any better. Do you think i should just take it to a shop and see if they can fix it or do you think there is still hope?

I've linked the dumps ive had, sorry again for overloading you with this but i just really dont know what else to do.

stack overflow in your usb 3 port driver. (something connected to your usb 3 port is a likely cause)
try moving any slow devices to the usb 2 port.
if you change the memory dump form a minidump to a kernel dump. the kernel dump will save the info on the USB subsystem and the problem could be debugged. kernel dump =c:\windows\memory.dmp
otherwise just move devices from usb 3 to a usb 2 port and see if your problem goes away.

you have a old driver installed: (unexpected, old remote control software)
hamachi.sys Thu Feb 19 02:36:41 2009
https://carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=hamachi.sys

you might download and run autoruns, find the driver and remove the entry that loads it.
