I took a trip to laissez fairest of them all, Best Buy, today with my girlfriend and her mother to help look for a new business computer.

Our salesperson suggested that we bring in her mom's current computer to possibly trade it in. She is currently having network connectivity issues and I think other crashing or processing related issues with her current all-in-one.

We were looking for something i5 8th Gen or higher or Ryzen 5 with built in wireless. I am also trying to find something that will save money on Microsoft Office. I'd love to build the computer for her if that would save her money. Unfortunately, I will be looking primarily at Best Buy's website because she is able to do a trade in at Best Buy. I'll update my post with a build that is similar to the computer we were looking to get for her based on my past experience building my own gaming rig about four or five years ago.

Despite the possible trade-in, I will be looking at Newegg and Amazon to compare prices and deals since they usually have the best.

We were looking in the neighborhood of these computers in the store:

1. Lenovo - 510A-15ICB Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black [strike]$579[/strike] $499 ($80 off/30-days trial of Microsoft Office 365/12 month financing/5% back/$20 off Office/$20 off Adobe Acrobat)
2. Acer - Aspire Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black $549.99
(12 month financing/5% back/$20 off Office/$20 off Adobe Acrobat)
3. Dell - XPS Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black $669.99
(12 month financing/5% back/$20 off Office/$20 off Adobe Acrobat)
4. HP - Pavilion Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5 - 12GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Ash Silver $549.99
(12 month financing/5% back/$20 off Office/$20 off Adobe Acrobat)

Current Computer: TBD

These purchases would come with Webroot internet security and anti-virus. Is that any good, I've never heard of it.

Solution
1. Performance difference between any of those is little if any.

2. Ignore that "webroot" gunk.

3. Set up a comprehensive backup plan. This will involve buying an external drive to back up to.
