I listen online to various audio files such as the litany of the saints, the rosary etc. Most of these files I can download for free and have but that means being at the computer to listen to them. I know nothing about players and just want something I can use to put the files on and listen other than on my computer. I don't need to record stuff just play them. I haven't come across any of these items that have video, maybe a still picture or something.Thank you for any help.

Sorry, I don't have things like that. I should probably have noted that kind of thing. I'm pretty low, i.e. old tech and don't really have much need for all the new things coming out. But, since trying to use a mic with my cassette recorder to record is tiresome, now I do need a today mp3 player. :) That would be much easier. Thanks so much for your reply.

most of the apple players will use there own itunes software for your library. free players like aimp and others with windows mp3 palyers and phones should be drag and drop of your songs onto the newer players. with mp3 players look at there file support for compressed audio files. also look for one with a lot of memory for a good price. with newer cell phones that have bluetooth you get to cut the cord.

My parents, in their 70s are "in" with it. Not only the kids are not getting annoyed with them from voice calls (interruption) because now they can text instead. They can look for nearby stores easily, Google map. Built-in health app tell them whether they have walked enough for the day, old folks need their exercise. Heck the magnifying glass app means my Mom doesn't have to carry a real glass in her purse to read the tinny print menus and of course she uses the built-in camera as mirror to fix her make up. Smartphones, not just for the young. Shopping list, to-do calendar in your pocket.... is truly Jesus' Phone.

Thank you so much. I took a look at Best Buy and they have them, it seems just what I need. :)

Thanks for the response, and I'm sure your parents love their items. I have no grandkids, no kids and as far as the phone is concerned it's for emergencies which I've actually never had. Though your post did make me think of some things and while I was looking at the mp3 player scottray mentioned, I did see a dvd cd mp3 portable player for $10 dollars more, so I'll try a little research on it to see if it will play the mp3 and wma files and maybe get that, at least it would be more tech. :)
