Dell 3010 sff backplate/shield

Hello again guys..

been trying to get my Dell 3010 sff up and running.. all is well.. I picked up some ram.. and got myself a 1050ti.. then realized it doesn't fit in the case..

So got a new case.. won't fit without some modding.. not an issue..

But what can I do about a backplate/shield as the one in the Dell 3010 case doesnt come out as it is part of the case..

Any ideas?..

Where did you get the new case? Check to see if a backplate/shield should have been included.

What motherboard do you have? You may be able to use that as a starting point to find an applicable backplate/shield.

I would try to male one out of metal screen or mesh of some kind. Trace through the holes to mark where you need to cut. I suggest wire mesh because the function of that is to maintain a full metal enclosure around the computer for EMF Shielding. AKA Faraday cage. A lttle extra air coming out there won't hurt anything.

Yeh I have thought about making one and watched a few videos on YouTube regarding this topic.. also thinking about grabbing my dermal and cutting the case I have for the Dell.. hmm maybe

I wouldn't concern myself too much with it. It isn't specifically going to hurt anything.

I have recently purchased cases that have this big hole above the PCI slot retainers. Nothing there to cover it.

The cases on business computers, and workstations are all metal for a reason. Maybe it doesn't hurt anything. Or maybe there will be interference with, or from other devices and you won't be able to figure out why.
