Hi Everyone,

I recently built a new PC and I have all the drivers updated to the latest version.

However, my PC would randomly stutter such as when I play YouTube videos or play games.

CPU: Intel Core i7 8700K
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15s
Motherboard: Asus Prime Z370-A
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) [XMP Mode]
Video Card: GeForce® GTX 1080 WINDFORCE OC 8G
SSD1: ADATA SX6000NP (For Windows and Applications)
SSD2: Corsair Force LE (For Gaming)
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 850 G3 80 Plus Gold 850w
Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500M

CPU Temp: Average 30c when idle, and 65c-70c while gaming.
Video Card Temp: Average 70c-80c while gaming.

I tried my first-time overclocking using Asus overclock utility and the CPU when up to 100c several times.

I have since stop overclocking and use stock speed.

Do you guys think if the stuttering is because I damaged my CPU while overclocking?

Solution
I would not think it's the CPU causing a stuttering issue. I have found i occassionally have issues with my rig when i install new Graphics Drivers and by rolling back the drivers one step the sound and/or visual problems i have had go away. I lost a second of sound every minute when Nvidia released 411.70 so rolled back to 411.63 which resolved the issue, now jumped straight to the new 416.16 and no issues)...

Worth a try....

You may heave meant that we should address so he can overclock. The Noctua fan you got should do a more than adequate job for cooling during an overclock. Pigeons:

What did the BIOS tell you it automatically tried and overclock to on all cores (48 ? 51 ?) ? Your Noctua must be seated OK since your current idle and under load temps are fine.

I forgot what the exact numbers were but I think I pick the "highest" option. Anyways, I don't think I would overclock again lol.

It would be a shame not too with that CPU and Cooler mate, I have the exact same combination on a Z370 E-gaming MB and have it OC'd to 4.8ghz, makes a huge difference in performance.....

I find it easier to use the EZ wizard in the ASUS Bios than software, i ended up picking standard air cooler instead of tower cooler as it started crashing at 4.9 on all cores.....

Download "Core Temp" to monitor your CPU temps from your desktop and suggest you give it one more go but using the BIOS EZ Tuner Wizard this time, you can even so it slowly by selecting basic settings if you like and going up slowly till the PC crashes on you during use and then wind it back....

Good luck, let me know if i can offer any more help....
