A CD shredded inside a CD/DVD drive. [Noob Here]

Hi. I was trying to burn a .mpg file in SVCD format to a CD. it sped up really fast and exploded in a few seconds.

I teared apart the drive, took out the cd pieces. When I connect both SATA Power/Data cables and boot up the PC, the tray opens and never stays inside. if you push it inside or press the button, it gets itself out again after a second. the only part of the drive that got broke was one of those two
plastic pieces that are on the sides (i guess they hold the tray/disc in a place), and the other one is cracked but it stays there.

A part that looks like a motor looks burnt. I guess it's done but I want to make the last push to make it work again.

Thanks for reading.

Accept it as "done".

Doubt that the CD/DVD drive is repairable and I am a fan of trying to fix things....

You will not be able to trust the drive again and some future failure could reak havoc in other ways.

Optical drives are almost obsolete and inexpensive.

Just get a new CD/DVD drive. Preferably a drive from a manufacturer with good product reviews.

I found the problem, though you're right. I have to replace the drive if I can't find a spare drive. The issue is with the laser, its motors are dead so it can't move. So the tray opens. Thanks.
