If im going to be upgrading to a new motherboard, cpu & ram only, should I buy a new power supply as well? Or do I just wait until the power supply completely doesn’t work anymore? If a psu stops working would it harm any other parts of the pc? Buy new power supply every new build, or wait until it dies? Same goes for using the same ssd/hdd for new builds? Should you buy new or use the old?

This is the psu I have: https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16817438028?_ga=2.148596532.2025188593.1538997560-520084435.1538997560&_gac=1.170601876.1538998184.EAIaIQobChMIysaG_t723QIVz7rACh13SQNUEAQYASABEgLn_fD_BwE

You have a great quality PSU no need to replace that. it will last you many years.

SSD sure, HDD depends on the age. I don't totally trust consumer HDDs older than 5 or so years. Sure it will work, but make sure you are making regular backups.

Agree with above. A good quality PSU spec for the load it's under should last a "good" while. I think it is a bit dependent on how old it is, or more succinctly how often you are upgrading.

In reply to the other, yes a failing PSU has the ability to damage things but is more often found in cheap no name stuff.

There is nothing wrong with using a good quality part for multiple builds. My Corsair AX860i is on its third build and will probably be moved to the 4th build as well.

Same with SSD/HDD. If they are still working and SMART tests show them as good keep them.
