So i have been trying to solve this problem for about 2 months now. All my google searches have shown me threads on this site so this community seems to be pretty reliable.
About 2 months ago my PSU burnt out on me. Kept black screening when gaming and felt extremely hot to the touch. I RMAed that unit and received a new one from Corsair. Being addicted to gaming, I bought another PSU (same model CX750) while waiting for the "new" unit from the RMA. After installing this new PSU, I started to get these micro stutters no matter which game i play (mostly Fortnite, Overwatch, and Counter Strike). After this started occurring, I contacted Gigabyte support to see if they could assist. They had me change a myriad of settings within the Nvidia control panel as well as run a stress test. Nothing seemed to help, so I was sent the GTX 970 to Gigabyte via RMA.
After waiting a few weeks, my GPU was returned and I received a new PSU from corsair. Gigabyte said they tested the GPU on multiple configurations with no issues. I thought maybe the PSU i bought may have been faulty. The goal was to put the RMAed unit in and rule out the PSU i had purchased. I cleaned out my entire PC for the second time in 2 weeks and installed the other PSU. The issue still occurs constantly.
I ran a stress test on my CPU with no errors. Ive also re-seated my GPU and RAM just in case the sockets were bad, to no avail. I also changed to PCI-E cables that lead to the GPU with brand new ones in order to eliminate that possibility. After reading multiple threads on this website I noticed many were asked to install MSI afterburner in order to help troubleshoot. No temp issues with CPU. Also, no issues with temps with the GPU from all ive seen. To be honest, I dont know what im looking at in the logs but I monitor the OSD as best I can when the issue occurs. I would sincerely appreciate anyone's help as I am at my wits ends with this stutter. This issue never occurred until that day my PSU burned out.
