My current specs:
CPU - Intel Core i5-4460 3.20ghz
GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Motherboard - MSI H81M-E34 (MS-7817)
Ram - 8GB
Power Supply - EVGA 500b (500 watts)

Im looking to upgrade to an Intel Core i7-8700 and my questions are
Will my current mother board be compatible with the Intel Core i7-8700 and if not what is the cheapest motherboard I can get that will be compatible with it?
My second question is, is the current Power supply I have strong enough for this new CPU?

Sorry if I left any information out and Thank you.

Solution
I generally recommend against the "cheapest" mentality, but here are some decent boards.

Dont forget to budget for RAM as well.

I will have to save up money to be able to get a new motherboard so any price is fine as long as its the cheapest one that will work.

I just put all the cost together and that is a lot of money. Would you happen to know what the best cpu I can get with this current motherboard is?

moey4, if you want to upgrade, there are things to consider. While I was upgrading my build from i5-2320 into i7-3770K, the reason it was worth to upgrade are:
1. I have 4x4Gb ram DDR3 which is still good for (maybe) 2020
2. My motherboard is Z77A-G45 MSI which compatible to utilized K series
3. Found used i7-3770K for $150

Now considering your condition:
1. your ram is 8Gb, and you should check if its 1 piece 8Gb ram or 2 pieces of 4Gb. If its 1 piece, you can still upgrade another 8Gb, but is it worth it. Considering the future usage, I said its not worth it. ONLY if you can get it cheap, but then again it has compatibility problem when pairing with another piece of 8Gb although its very rare case.
2. Your motherboard is H81 which will not able to optimize K series. If you can get it cheap, then its worth to upgrade it. Below I list the cpu that can be used to your motherboard.

List of cpu that still worth it to upgrade when you can get below $200. From the best to lower:
- i7-4770K
- i7-4770
- Xeon E3-1285 v3 (have internal gpu)
- E3-1280 v3 (no internal gpu)
- E3-1275 v3
- E3-1270 v3 (no internal gpu)
- E3-1245 v3
- E3-1240 v3 (no inernal gpu)
- E3-1230 v3 (no internal gpu)
- E3-1225 v3

Remember, unless its below $200, its not worth to upgrade it.

When I upgraded from i5-2320 into i7-3770K, my pc performance doubled in BF1 (added user.cfg to make BF1 to use 8 threads instead of default 6 threads), but still its already use almost 100% of the cpu. In my case, its still worth it due to reasons above for $150 (include a better heatsink than I already have).

Its your choice.

And you're in luck, there's one with $150 in US

OR $210 in Korea

Don't worry about internal gpu since you already have external 970. But since its used item, there is always a risk of bad seller. Buy it with paypal for extra security.
