I have a Corsair VS650 with expired warranty. I stopped using my computer for a while(2 months approx) & when i suddenly turned it on, the sparks came out from the PSU and all of the lights, fans(of home) go down with one MCB down. I switch the MCB up and reset my inverter of home to get my lights, fans working. Then i attempted again this time only sparks came out but my home lights & fans were working. How should i test it to ensure it will work fine?
Does the clip method of testing psu is fine or should i take it to the repair shop?

Update: I opened it and find everything intact and capacitor was fine, it did not blown out.
Also my PSU is connected with UPS (Luminious UNO1000).

If it was plugged, with inverter all 2 months, probably capacitor that holds stand by voltage (the thing that powers your keyboard while PC isnt on) bursted, technically without seeing any damage you cannot be sure if its working or not, without multimeter and basic knowledge of electronics, its hard to help you.
My vs550 (Orange) which I have for 4 years ran GTX 470, 9800GX2 without issues (except they died due the age).
Still voltages are withn 5%.

Actually i don't think it would take more than $20 i.e. roughly INR Rs.1,500 as the labour is cheap here in India.
I am using the GX650w which the repair shop guy gave me and it's working good.
