My current setup is:
MB: Asus z97 extreme 6
GPU: 980Ti
CPU: i7-4790k
PSU: 1300 Plat Evga fully modular
Storage: 4TB Western Digital HDD, 256 SSD (With OS on it)

Im looking to upgrade, money really isn't an issue but I'm looking for some advice. I probably wont be doing the upgrade till December, January.

My main concerns are as follows,

I don't feel the 2080ti is worth it over the 1080ti, thoughts? What should I go with? With the fact in mind that I wont be upgrading for a few months.

What CPU should I get? Again not sure if an i9 is worth it for gaming, I also do computer science but still not sure if that would make it worth it?

Also looking for mother board recommendations depending what CPU you guys think is a solid choice.

I would think that my PSU doesn't need to be changed being that it is a very nice one, what do you guys think?

Also recommendations on going fully SSD, what SSD to go with as well size for gaming and so on, Im assuming 2TB or more.

Here's how I ended up with my new rig. I just updated recently. I ended up with Ryzen since it is cheaper, has backward compatibility with mobo and it is good for all around productivity. But since you mentioned that budget is not an issue, then Intel platform is still a solid choice. But the gap between intel and amd is very minimal now. It will all depend on your preference.
The new RTX cards performed well on benchmarks, I will definitely buy one if I have the cash to burn.

To be honest. Slap a 1080ti in your current rig and go with that. The 4790k is still really strong.

1. 4790k is still good for today's gaming standard. I would not replace it yet.
2. 2080ti does not worth it at all. I would go max to 1080ti or 2080. oOte: 980Ti is on par with 1070, which is still quite ok actually.

If you are really into upgrading from your current rig, I would imagine that I9 9900k+2080ti is really the best money could buy.
I would keep your current rig tho'.

Asus z97 extreme 6 __ Error 404..that one is from ASRock hehehehe
256GB SSD is indeed a bit small, look for Samsung EVO 1 or 2 TB :)
