The keyboard ( A Corsair K70) would not work when plugged into any other devices (another Windows PC and two seperate Macbook Airs) either, as well as any other Usb ports on my desktop. My mouse does however still function, so i do not necessarily think that it is an issue with my usb ports. Upon using another usb keyboard, it did not work on the desktop despite having worked prior on another device. However, even more worrying is that now the other keyboard does not work on any other devices, showing the exact same problem as the first keyboard.

Also, upon inquiring into connected devices, my mouse appeared to also function as both a keyboard and a mouse. The keyboard also does not seem to be registered by any device manager either, instead showing two instances of HID keyboard device. Also, the keyboard keeps swapping in between different colour profiles intermittently. Something seems to be quite wrong with my computer and I am totally lost as to what I should do, any help whatsoever is greatly appreciated.

If you have two dead keyboards after being used in a computer, I'd suspect something is wrong with the USB port or ports on that computer. Or you are not careful and are causing shorts on the USB connection by shoving it in sideways or something. I'd get a USB add-in card and use that instead of the onboard ports.
