My system:
GPU - gtx 1060 6gb
CPU - Ryzen 5 2600
RAM - 8GB DDR4 3000Mhz
STORAGE - 120 Gb SSD and 1Tb HDD
MONITOR - 144hz, 1ms

While playing games i noticed that even though my fps is at 140-250 i sometimes experience split second freezes and it is VERY annoying, especially when it happens during an important moment.

This is what i mean:

It happens without me streaming. At first i thought its because of encoding problems is why im skipping frames but i experience this even without the stream.

Solution

I am getting this exact issue with a similar system.

Ryzen 5 2600 (happened on my 1600 as...
What games, and what res?

It's most likely your ram getting maxed. games like BF1/COD/Wolfenstein/BF V all use upwards of 9gbs of system ram at 1080p! When it maxes out you get these momentary lapses, but it can be annoying. Getting 16gb (which is the sweet-spot right now for gaming) should alleviate the issue.

it also doesn't help having 8gbs for a streaming machine.

I am using geforce experience for the drivers. is the 411.70 the most stable version or smth?

I noticed that ram usage was above 70% sometimes, but im not sure if it was ever maxed out that being said, could ram be the only issue here?

It's possible, there is a GPU issue, specially if streaming. But for the most part i'd put it down to the ram.

Keep in mind, some ram is hardware reserved so you will not have a full allocation of 8gbs. Maybe 7-7.5.

Like the other poster mentioned update your drivers to the latest one, doing a clean install (select from custom install options for nvidia driver)

Also, if you use Geforce experience in any way to optimize your game, don't. It's trash. Just use Nvidia control panel and in game settings to manage graphical settings.

I dont use experience to optimize games i used it to update drivers. Also, i just played few matches of rocket league and i experienced the stutters while ram usage being 50% or below. the max usage that it reached was 57%

You've mentioned you played rocket league a few times and were still experiencing it. Was this whilst streaming too?

Also, bit late in the day, but this should have been asked almost immediately. Are you OC'ing any components? CPUP/GPU/Ram. If so, try run everything at stock. It could be unstable OC.

No OC, apart from the fact that i changed ram frequency to what 3k because the ram stick is advertised as that speed but it was not on that speed from the start, and yes, i get the stutters during and without the stream.

I tested the ram using "windows memory diagnostic" tool and it found no problems

Have you tried ram on default speed? 2133 or 2400. Give it a shot. Did you set 3000mhz by DOCP or manually or both? If you tried only one, try the other. Also, I don't see it but maybe I missed it, what mobo do you have? If it's a B350, this could be the issue as ram compatibility is still an issue for some DIMMS to this day.

I have not tried RAM on default speed and my MOMBO is ASRock AB350 Pro4
