Hi guys,I'm building new pc now, looking psu for long time. I'm coming from 750w EVGA G2,wanted to take EVGA g3 1000w,but the net is full of people complaining about noise issues and my priority is quietness of pc,so very pity but I think g3 isn't good in terms of silence :( So the build looks like this:

MB Z390
9700k (planning to oc) or maybe 9900k if price difference will be 10-15% on amazon/ebay
1080ti/2070 (planning to oc)
2x8gb DDR 4
1 nvme m2 500gb
4TB HDD
1440p monitor + 1080p TV (hooked up to pc for youtube, movies etc)

There are sometimes deals on g3 like now for e.g 1000w unit is for 110$
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LZ3SFB...olid=3U506258XYEC1&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
but as I said before noise issues concerns me a lot...

So I came up with 2 other psu-s to choose, both are 850w units (since price for 650/750/850 is almost same I decided to take a 850 for a little future proof
Seasonic Focus Plus: https://www.amazon.com/Seasonic-SSR...sr=8-1&keywords=seasonic+focus+plus+850w+gold
CORSAIR RM850x v2 (2018 model) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079H5WNX...olid=3U506258XYEC1&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
As I have read, this seasonic model also has some kind of noise issues under idle/load so I don't know, maybe corsair will be good choice ?
So which one do you recommend from this two? Or maybe you have some other models to look for ? Thanks in advance

Don't bother with the 20 series cards unless you really plan on trying to take advantage of RTX in what literally 1 or 2 games have it right now. And even then the performance isn't super great even with the 2080ti so in my opinion not worth it. the 1080ti is a much better choice of card until the next generation or until RTX card gets cheaper.

As for a quality PSU the Seasonic FOCUS series is phenomenal for build quality, performance, and price.

If you hadn't already posted the Seasonic FOCUS PSU I would've actually ended up linking it myself.

That's the one you should get for sure. Cant beat it for price to performance/features.

As for noise, there's always going to be some sort of ambient sound, but unless you are running open air test bench and are sitting in absolute and complete and utter silence while using your PC with no headphones or nothing then you're not gonna hear anything.

However, that RMx is also a great PSU too. But the FOCUS is newer and utilizing newer components and construction techniques.
Up to you really. either one is a fantastic choice.

Yeah I know all this info about rtx cards with no games support at this moment :D I know it's kinda marketing thing, buy maybe it will be the feature, who knows, but at this moment it's a no-no feature. The only reason I posted 2070 next to 1080ti,cause I don't know what will be the price and performance, but we will see it in 1 week as I know

Regarding to psu-s,you said "But the FOCUS is newer and utilizing newer components and construction techniques" can you be more informative about that or maybe some kind of link? I'm interested
All in all it will be hard choice, don't know what to do :(

As far as I can tell, the 2080 is basically on par with the 1080ti but costs more. so the 2070 will be lesser in performance matching the 1080 most likely and so on.

Same as with newer iterations of EVGA or Corsair PSU's. It's newer than the Corsair one you linked and it's construction and internal design is just more refined is all to offer better power efficiency and whatnot.

If you don't have a PSU shroud in your system then go with the one that'll blend better. Otherwise, just toss a coin. Or go with the Corsair because it's $2 cheaper.

Also, there is at least one game that supports it that I know of off the top of my head and that's Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
I could google for another one but I'm too lazy.

This EVGA g3 units have some noise problems, that's why I think it's not a good pick for me

There could be some coil whine on those units. But I wouldn't know from any personal experience. When it comes to system noise I'm accustomed to having an ambient fan noise from outside my window from the water pump machine that serves this pond thing in my complex. also I typically have a fan going in my room and when I'm using my PC for gaming or content consumption I am wearing a Razer Man O' War wireless 7.1 surround sound headset so PC noise from something like my GPU fans ramping up and whatnot doesn't affect me since I can't hear it to begin with.

I'm still running off of a Corsair CX600M PSU and I don't hear weird noises from my system, just the fans whenever they speed up and while I'm not wearing my headset.

I've read a lot of reviews and watched videos, still can't decide which one to take. While Seasonic Focus+ supposed to be better in terms of quality it's in TIer 2 while corsair rmx is in Tier 1: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/
My priority is silence, seasonic has hybrid mode also, while corsair seems to be more quiet ? Don't know which one to take...

The 750w EVGA G2 will handle what you are planning no issue.

It's one of the best 750W PSU's on the market.

The G2 is quiet, the G3's are loud.

Flip the ECO switch on the back to on, will be pretty much silent.

I seriously doubt with your system that's it's the PSU fan you are hearing in the 1st place.

Other quiet PSU's are the Seasonic Prime Series and Corsair RMX.

The Focus isn't quiet.
