Really, will the Gpu could pump out enough ponies for the monitor? I just wanna be sure y'know? Also my motherboard is LGA 1151 socket type are the 9th gen CPU's the same?

*sigh* im dumb I just looked them up. I will definetly be looking into those my friend thank you for the input!

You were wise to buy a Z370 motherboard up front.
You now have the option to upgrade to a 9th gen K processor.
All of them will OC to 5.0 and beyond. Reviews will tell how much.
If you have the budget for a 8700K look for a i7-9700K Which you can pre order on newegg for $420.
Extra threads, and, more importantly extra clock speed.

Your psu is excellent quality and plenty strong; no need to upgrade that.

I do not think a GTX1080 is a sufficiently strong upgrade over a GTX1070ti.
GTX1080ti at least.

I think I would first upgrade the monitor and see how you do.
You will then get a better idea of just what you need for graphics.

If you are not already using a ssd, I would look into that.

8700k = Good idea. 8400 will hold you back in some games
850w PSU = NOT a good idea. 750w is already plenty
Gtx 1080 = NOT a good idea. 1070ti is very close to 1080 performance. Price for performance gain is not worth it.
Monitor-Acer z35p ultrawide = Subjective. Some games don't get along with ultrawide. But a 1070ti can handle a 2560x1080 or 2560x1440p 21:9 UW just fine
