Improve My PC Sound with $500

I am looking to improve the sound quality of my PC with $500 budget.

I have Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers connected directly to my MSI Z170A SLI Plus motherboard. The sound quality is not bad, but I am hoping for better.

What would improve the sound quality of my PC the most? New speakers? USB DAC? Sound card?

I use my computer mostly to play Overwatch and listening to music.

My speakers cost about $120 new. I don't remind replacing with with $500 speakers if that would improve the sound quality the most.

sorry it tooks so long to reply,

its hard to place a dac in it because of the build in amplifier (as far as I know).

Thanks. Do I still need to buy an external USB DAC, or the Yamaha amplifier alone will work?
