Hi guys, I'd like to buy an ipad (or ipad pro, to be fair I don't know the difference) and an Apple pencil.
The problem is that I have never owned an Apple device of any kind, so I am completely lost.
I would use them almost only to take notes at university, so I am looking for something functional and mildly expensive, let's say that I would like to spend less than 1000 $/€ (in the 600-800 range if possible).
Thanks a lot for any help I will get!

I am using iPad Pro 12.9 with Apple Pencil for degree studies as well.

Worth every penny, not only it dropped my backpack weight to nothing, but it is also pretty stellar overall for studies because you can do just about everything you would ever need starting from taking notes to adding written notes to the PDF/slides and such and inserting whiteboard photos into notes (it even automatically captures exact whiteboard dimensions so you don't need to mess with it much).

I got used to taking notes with it to a point where it has a whole ton of notes, printouts and what not stored in it and instantly accessible everywhere because it syncs with cloud. Not only studies but also for work.

The only thing you can't really do (well) with it is coding, but it is possible actually if you setup remote workstation to hook up to and use keyboard cover.

12.9 is a bit big, so you can take a smaller one - they just released new ones, so fetch it and never look back. I took one with Cellular + WiFi and it's pretty nice because you are always connected this way.

The only problem I can think of is that battery life is not stellar - if you actively work on it it lasts like 7-8 hours, which is quite poor for 2k18, IMO.
