I have 100mbps ACT fibernet connection, and tp link tl-wr841n router. Initially when i installed 100mbps connection it was working fine, it was giving me speed close to 100mbps. but after 2 month it has started giving only 10mbps, without the router i am still getting 100mbps, however if i speed test in speedtest.net and manually select the best server it is still showing 100mbps but actually i am not getting 100mbps it is just giving 10mbps.

where is the problem?
do i have to buy another router?

It is possible the cable between the router and the modem is bad. Start by swapping that cable with a new cat 5e cable. You really need a new router to use 100Mbit service. There is overhead to get 100Mbit throughput so you really need a router with gigabit network ports.

Hi, You can try restarting your modem and router. First, unplug your modem then your router. After your modem is fully powered, restart your wireless router. Also, another issue that can cause slow connection is that your wireless router is too hot.
