SSD Primary to IDE Slave

As I need the IDE drive for my work, I have temp taken out the SSD and restored my SATA Boot HDD
BIOS reads
Primary IDE Master = my D Drive
Secondary IDE Drive = empty
Sata 1 = spare
Sata 2 =Boot C Drive
Sata 3 = DVD Drive
Sata 4 =spare
It boots up OK using Sata 2

I have worked around the problem
The SSD made my SATA "C" HDD drive spare
I then cloned the IDE "D" drive to this spare SATA drive
So I now have
SSD "C" on SATA 1
SATA HDD "D" on SATA 2 .................was my original "C" drive HDD
DVD Drive on SATA 3
IDE now in spares box
I hope that makes sense ?
