Current build -

MoBo - Z170
CPU - going to purchase I7-7700K, now with I5-6500
RAM - 2x8
PSU - Seasonic ss-650km3

Main game that I play is WoW, otherwise mainly ARPG games.

Thinking of buying 2K monitor in the future.

Well, based on my research the increased memory bandwidth on the 1080 should be considered in the long term, as well as the 1080 has a better performance in DX12 due to the bigger textures that are made possible . In 1080P the 1070TI is with no question the better option, but as I mentioned I'm going to replace my monitor with a new a 1440P one where the 1080 should be more future proof. So the questions is really total cost of ownership
