[SOLVED] Best PSU for a gtx 970?

So I'm buying a gtx 970 but it says I need 2 x 6 pic pin psu, I'm making a budget build and can't find any cheaper ones, I'm looking for 500w and nothing more really, I also don't know if it's easier to convert a 4 pin to 2 x 6 pin?
Any suggestions and known PSUs you might know would be very welcome
 
That simply means that you need a PSU that includes 2 pieces of 6-pin connectors. Most of them do. Also, note that 6-pin connectors are always separated into 4pin+2pin attached to it or 4-pin+4-pin attached. So you're fine.

What is your budget? I'll help you recommend one.

PCIe AUX connectors aren't 'always' 6+2 but those are fairly common. Solid 8-pin is particularly common when the PSU strings both an 8-pin and 6 or 6+2 pin connector on the same cable. 4+4 however should NEVER be on a PCIe AUX cable, 4+4 should only be seen on the ATX12V/EPS12 CPU power connector. The keying order is different, spacing is tighter on PCIe connectors and the pin polarity is inverted compared to ATX12V/EPS12. You do not want to mistake a PCIe AUX connector for an ATX12V/EPS12 one.

Ahh thanks for the clarification, do you have any idea for a cheap psu that works well with the 970x?

Most PSUs' efficiency is relatively flat from 30% through 70%, especially those with genuine 80+ ratings where they have to meet minimum from 20% through 100% and are only 3-5% more efficient at their peak efficiency.

If you size a PSU to be at 50% load when the system is near absolute maximum load (300W is where a typical enthusiast system lands without extreme overclocking), your overall efficiency will be worse since the PSU will be at 20-40% load most of the time instead of hovering around peak efficiency at 40-60% through gaming loads and falling under 20% under light loads where there are no efficiency requirements under 80+ at less than Titanium rating.
