I know it may be a little too soon to ask this question, but...

I was originally going to replace my gaming PC by the end of this year and get an Nvidia RTX 2070, 2080, or 2080 Ti GPU when it looked like I would be finished with grad school in December.

But, graduation may be pushed back into May of next year. I am currently using a GTX 970, but I haven't had time to game because of studying.

The next PC that I build will be for both gaming and 4K video editing for a drone startup business that I plan to open sometime after grad school. I try to plan my PC build after the release of a new GPU and/or CPU. I would like to rebuild or replace my PC after I am done with grad school, but I do not wish to spend $2000 or $3000 to upgrade my hardware if newer versions of components such as the CPU and GPU are less than six months away from being released.

I am pretty sure that if I have to wait until May to graduate, the new Intel CPU will be released in the October/November 2019 time-frame. However, since Nvidia released the RTX 2080 and 2080Ti simultaneously this year, could the Fall of 2019 see either the release of Ti variants of the RTX 2060 and 2070 or RTX 3070, 3080, and 3080 Ti? Thanks in advance.

3080ti - 20 months(???) = summer 2020. And if you bet on that date, would you also be interested in a bridge? I have a nice one, in a very popular area.

Buy what you want, what meets your needs, when you have the money for it.
