Is my pc still relevant?

A few years ago I built my first pc. It runs and i7-4790k over clocked to 4.5 ghz, a gtx 980 over clocked as well, 32 gig Corsair dominator platinum ram at 1333 MHz. I have 3 27 inch Aoc 1080p monitors. I’ve noticed that on some games the graphics tend to lag a little, would this be because of the cpu or gpu? Thanks!

You'd have to run some kind of resource monitoring software to see if it's the CPU or GPU - whichever one pegs at 100% when the system lags is the culprit.

Keep in mind that it COULD be the hard drives, if Windows is doing things behind the scenes (downloading updates or what have you).

Otherwise, your CPU is still very good, and your GPU should easily be able to handle games at 1920x1080 @ 60Hz at max settings. You have well more than enough RAM to handle anything.

Possible and that entirely depends on the primary storage drive but I would still point to drivers / OS not being updated as the culprit.
