I have had my computer for almost 2.5years and I always felt like it was missing the mark in terms of performance.. I have tried overclocking. Nothing seems to make it better. The performance tool From assassin's Creed origins gives me a frame score of 6k whereas others with similar setups get upwards of 8k

My setup: msi z170a gaming m5
i5 6600k overclocked to 4ghz
Corsair vengence 3200bus (16gb)
Generic Toshiba 7200rpm 2tb HDD
GTX 1080 msi gaming X
Armageddon 600w 80+ gold psu

I know the PSU is bad but other than that I don't see why my PC is underperforming this bad. Please help.. thanks in advance

So are you guys saying that the performance I am getting is as expected from a 6600k and a GTX 1080? And I am using systems with same gpu and cpu to compare.. if there is a bottleneck please point it out.. and stop hating on the PSU.. I know it's bad.

At 1080p with a GTX1080 the 6600k will be the limiting factor in cpu heavy games. Although a great quad core modern games benefit from more than 4 cores/threads. Quad core is entry level these days and it’s paired with a strong high end gpu running low resolution.
