i got a 1tb sas card by accident and i was wondering if i can use it (with raid controller) among my 1 other 1tb sata drive as normal storage. It seemed to me like you can do this only if you have at least 2 sas drives

Solution
It depends on your controller. If your controller can handle both SAS and SATA (most good ones can).

Also note that you will need a SAS cable, SATA is not compatible with SAS, but SAS cable can be used for SATA drive.
