Hey everybody,

So, likethe title says im looking for opinion s. My pc is pretty muched used exclusively for gaming. Im currently using 2 geforce gtx 970s in SLI along with an i5-6600k and 16gb 3200mhz DDR4 ram.

Im not really running into any issues, im just trying to find my bearings for future upgrades. Would it be worth a 1080 or waiting until the 2000 series? And should I be lookong for a different cpu to keep up with newer games an such?

Solution
Get the GTX 1080 for now. If you really want an RTX 2080, I'd recommend upgrading to an i7 6700k. The 1080 is already a good card by default. If you want a 10 series with equal performance with the 2080 without ray tracing, then get the 1080 ti. Hope this helps :)

Yes. My friend runs an i7 7700 (non k) with an RTX 2080 with no issues. The 6700k is more powerful than the office 7700, so there should be no problems running with a 2080 and below.
