Guys,

I need some help.
I had a cheap build :
CPU: AMD athlon II x4 880k
MDB: Ga-f2a88xm-D3H
RAM: crucial ballistix ddr3 2x8gb
GPU: MSI gtx 1050ti
PSU: Corsair VS650
SSD: samsung evo 750 (250 gb)
HDD: WD 1TB (2015)

I wanted to upgrade so I changed:
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
MDB: GA-AB350 gaming 3
RAM: G.SKILL aegis (F4-3000C16D-16GISB)

Whenever I try to boot, it just shows a black screen. All the lights and fans are on (etc). But the screen just stays black. It doesn't turn automatically off or anything, it just stays on and stays on a black screen. I can't get to my BIOS. I tried different cables on different screens. SSD and HDD work just fine (I tested it on another pc). What could it be?

Greetings,
Hidde

due to B350 motherboards not all having updated bios for 2nd gen chips I believe that is most likely your issue. very common, what you need to do is contact AMD for a bios update bootkit. It's an older CPU that will allow you to update bios for the new chip. you'll need to do a fresh win10 install as well when you get to that point. don't use your old drives with windows on it and just plug it in and hope it works, it won't you'll develop issues over time

- How can I update the bios if my screen is black. And how do I know for sure that it's a problem with the BIOS and that it needs fresh windows10?
