Hello,
So, this motherboard: Asus X99-E WS has 6 Fan headers :
CPU_FAN, CPU_OPT and CHA_FAN1-4
Two CPU fan headers, 4 chasis case fans headers.
Here is the motherboard specs:
https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/X99E_WS/specifications/
Motherboard manual:
https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/X99E_WS/HelpDesk_Manual/
Now I checked the motherboard manual and it says the CPU_FAN header supports upto 12W (1A)
But it doesn't say anything about the CHA_FAN1-4.
What I am trying to verify is: Would the CHA_FAN1-4 connectors be able to handle two fans on each of them using a Y cable.
The fans I am going to use are Noctua NF-F12 iPPC-3000 PWM Fan:
https://noctua.at/en/nf-f12-industrialppc-3000-pwm/specification
They are rated at 3.6W Max Input Power. So if I run two of those, the combined load would be theoretically 7.2W Max Input Power i.e. the max power draw from the motherboard fan header would be 7.2W Max.
I would appreciate it a lot if someone could confirm the feasibility of the fan header wattage.
Thank you for your time and knowledge.
