[SOLVED] Audio problems with HDMI

Solution

So what are you using for speakers? Are they plugged into the green mobo line out port? If so then windows is probably trying to use HDMI audio when it detects and HDMI connection for some reason. You need to go into sounds and select the correct audio device.

It sounds like Windows is trying to make the monitor your default audio device. You can change this by doing the following If you are running Windows 10....

1. Right click on the speaker Icon in the system tray on the bottom right corner of the screen.
2. Select Open Sound Settings from the menu.
3. From the menu option Choose your Output Device select the correct speaker device for your setup.
