Hello, I have a Toshiba Satellite l845. The current cpu is intel core i3-3110M and I want to update it to an i5 or i7. I understand that I need to put one of the same generation, isn't it? Also, I know that the cpu is soldered to the motherboard. Can I update it? Is it very hard? Can I put a quad core cpu on it?

You have to watch for TDP ratings of the cpu.
If it is 35W or less, then you're fine.
If TDP rating is more, then cooling solution of your laptop may have trouble cooling the cpu down.
