My system is CPU phenom x4 b95 + 5gb ram. My psu is Colorsit atx12v p4 400 watt.
I'm willing to use evga gtx 760. And by my calculations there's enough watt in the psu to power gpu and CPU.
CPU has 85 energy consumption and GPU has 170. It's 255. I don't see a reason why I have to buy a new psu to run this system.
Do you think it will be ok? And why? And will the amperage fit?
Many in internet write, that at least 500w psu is required, but I don't get it. Why so much?
Thanks for answers.

Solution
Nope, not gonna work. Problem is it says 400W; however, it only has 20A on the +12V rail. That's only 240W for the CPU and GPU and a few other things. You need a better power supply.
