Should i try upgrading my PSU from a cx500? System instability since upgrading hardware.

Hey guys! I've read some forums regarding the cx500 and how terrible it is. I've been using a cx500 since i got this computer around 5 years ago. I have however upgraded my other components over the years and im wondering if my old PSU could be causing any trouble as i do experience a lot of crashes and freezes since upgrading my CPU, motherboard and RAM around a year ago. I've tried running software to see if the voltages are off and they seem fine, but a lot people said looking at voltages through software is unreliable so i don't really know what to think anymore. Since upgrading i have tried almost everything, but i have not tried a new PSU yet.

Here are my specs:

- Windows 10 home 64-bit
- Intel Core i7 7700k @ 4.20GHz Kaby lake
- Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 16GB
- ASUS ROG Strix Z270F Gaming, Socket-1151
- Noctua NH-U14S CPU Cooler
- 1TB Western Digital WDC WD10EZRX-00A8LB0 (got two of these)
- 120 GB M4-CT128M4SSD2 (SATA (SSD))
- 4GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (MSI)
- Corsair cx500 PSU

I don't know a lot about computers so any help is appreciated!

When you say you've tried everything, what have you tried? Updated BIOS? Reinstalled drivers with the latest? Reinstalled OS using a recreated bootable installer made using Windows Media Creation Tools? Running bare minimum while breadboarding?

I myself would look at a new PSU of reliable build quality. Over time, the useful power delivered by any PSU will deteriorate with the aging of the capacitors inside the PSU. How much can you allocate for your purchase and where are you located?

I've tried everything you said apart from the breadboarding. Have not heard about that before, so im gonna check out that thread. Shoud probably note that the computer works fine for the first two weeks after a fresh install, then it freezes up. After that it takes about a week until the next freeze, then just a few days. When a few months have passed the freezes and crashes can happen almost daily and even multiple times a day, but it gets to a point where it seems very random. The freezing does not happen in the same way all the time either. Sometimes the system recovers on its own, but other times it's unresponsive and i have to use the power button to turn it off and on again.

Im located in Norway. I could probably spend around 600-800kr. (around 73-97$)
