Gtx 1060 on a 1280x1024 monitor

Our monitor is only 1280x1024 resolution. It has vga and dvi-d dual link on it. If gtx 1060 has a dvi-d dual link port ,should I just use a dvi-d dual link cable or buy an adapter for hdmi to vga instead?

DVI-D would certainly be easier.

I'm not 100% sure, but I would almost certainly believe that an active HDMI to VGA adapter will add latency due to signal conversion.

That or consider a monitor upgrade.

Thanks for the reply, i currently have no budget for a monitor, maybe some months later I'll upgrade but for now, I'll use it atm

Generally you want to avoid any adapters and VGA is the worst in terms of quality. Go for DVI-D.

Also HDMI to DVI would work also without adapter since HDMI is digital signal and DVI-(D) stands for Digital.
