Today I upgraded to asus strix gtx 1080 advanced.
The problem is when i open the game it's so laggy and fps drops to 18 in an old game like mw3!
I tried gta v..the same fps drops and lag.
I tried everything like reinstalling the driver..i even reinstalled my os.

Change your power settings in control panel and nvidia:

Also I can't tell from your pictures, but make sure you aren't using a psu cable splitter (one psu cord) to the graphics card. Make sure each PSU cable is dedicated. You might try reseating the graphics card into the PCI-E slot along with the PSU cables.

Jammer47 Just out of my own curiosity, what is your motherboard model?

I'll be honest, after reading your initial post, I thought you connected the video cable from the monitor to your motherboard. Some people don't realize that the connection from the monitor has to be connected to the video card, after such an upgrade.

I'm glad that everything is working properly for you now, but honestly the explanation that the store gave doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If one of the motherboard slots were damaged, I would suspect that there would be no video at all. Even if the port was 8x instead of 16x, the performance hit would be negligible. If you wouldn't mind humoring me, would you mind taking a photo of the very back of your case, where all the cables are plug in? Then upload the image to imgur and share the link here. I just want to make sure that the store didn't feed you a nonsense explanation.
