Cannot Initialize HDD

Hello.
I'm having an issue with my HDD. I recently built a new computer and my initial Windows installation corrupted. I then reinstalled Windows but before doing so, used the SecureErase+ function on my MSI motherboard to erase the data from my M.2 SSD drive. This is a function that is meant for SSDs however I accidentally selected my HDD.
I'm scared I may have killed the hard drive. I've ran a couple programs to absolutely no avail, Seatools and Crystal Disk Info. I also ran Seatools for dos from my USB pen and when I run most of the basic tests the drive passes however when I try to run the "Fix All" test it fails almost instantaneously. The HDD is also showing up as an SSD in speccy. I've attached links to images of the error I get when trying to initialize the drive as well as a speccy screen, cdi results and seatools results.

Well, one thing that may work is to delete all partitions and reformat the HDD (in a really bad case a Linux distro like Ubuntu or one of it's variants helped me reformat a drive that Windows refused to do anything with, and now it works on Windows again).

Just an idea.

Not sure what you want to accomplish. Restore data, or just get the drive working for use again?

If data on the drive is not an issue, try initialize under windows and format.

If unable to format due to onboard HDD hardware issue or error etc...

Then...

If the HDD is totally Kaput and you cannot use it anymore regardless what you do, but still shows up in Windows,

You could try EaseUS data recovery software, if that don't work then...

If the HDD is a fairly new model Seagate then the drives firmware was on one of the tracks on the HDD itself. Check with seagate website for the drive model and see if there is a firmware update, or original firmware version install file.

It is possible that the firmware is now corrupted somehow during the SSD operations you performed on it.

Re-installing the firmware might possibly resolve the issue. Just bare in mind that firmware installs can be delicate and reliable power to the device is essential. If the firmware install process is interrupted, you could end-up with a paperweight.

If you have a Seagate then I suggest you do a google search for "Seagate firmware update with the model of your drive. You should get a hit to the Seagate support page for your drive and firmware files etc...

I cannot guarantee it will work although from what you have stated it seems the way to go.

Forgot to mention,

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully for the firmware install process and make sure no antivirus or background apps are running during the operation. Good luck.
