I logged onto Fortnite at some point in the last week and realised I had massive frame drops from a constant 160 fps to spiking 70-80 fps when looking at named places on the map (various buildings in one spot) from a distance and when looking at large amounts of player made builds. I know this is a hardware related issue as I have reinstalled Fortnite and also done a fresh start on my PC.
I also now have an issue with massive frame drops and visual lag on Fortnite when I have another app open or have a video playing on my second monitor. I have been able to watch videos in full screen and have various other apps open on my second monitor while holding a constant 160 fps (Capped) on Fortnite previous to this.
Things I've tried:
- Fresh Start PC
- Reinstall Fortnite
- Take out a piece of RAM
- Swap Ram Positions.
- Change Power points
- Taken an Intel Diagnostic Tool test and passed.
- Change my second monitor back to the Graphics Card from an Integrated Graphics setup
My Specs:
- GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU
- 16 GB Ram (Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz)
- MSI B250M Gaming Pro Motherboard
- Antec Basiq VP-600P 600W Power Supply
- Cooler Master Hyper 212X CPU Cooler
- Running 144Hz at 1280x1080
Please give me any solutions or fixes I could try that could fix my pc
