Hi, I have an Asus Rampage 6 Extreme that I have had running with no issues for over 2 months now. Last night I had a power outage and so I promptly shut off my power supply and surges and left it till this morning. now when trying to boot the computer I get code 00 no post. I have tried to clear CMOS around 10 times. Nothing seems to make a difference.

I am able to use the bios switch and swap to bios 2 since it has dual bios and this one will post and boot to windows with no issue. I have tried re-flashing the first bios using the flashback tool but no matter what I try I am only able to get the flashback switch to light up solid. I have tried multiple usb sticks and the newest bios renamed properly to R6E.CAP .

Somehow my main bios is seeming to be bricked. Is there any way to recover it or re-flash the first bios from the second 1 without running into more issues? Since bios 2 is up with no issues I am trying to avoid touching it. Is there a way to flash just bios 1?

all liquid cooled.

Thanks in advance!

I can't guarantee this will work for your computer. I was nervous when I tried it on mine. Since I wasn't sure if it would damage my last remaining BIOS.

Anyway's my Gigabyte has dual BIOS as well. It also has a BIOS switch. I booted my computer using the good backup BIOS. I then flicked the BIOS switch to my bad BIOS while in Windows. After which I loaded the BIOS flashing utility for my motherboard and flashed the bad BIOS with a fresh and up to date BIOS. It worked great. The BIOS was back to normal. Once I was sure everything was okay. I switched back to my backup BIOS just to get it up to date as well. Then shutdown and switched back to my regular BIOS.

I came across the solution after a lot of other attempts which failed. From reading multiple suggestions. I finally buckled and tried this as a hail mary. Luckily, it worked perfectly. As I recall the switching only works if you use the BIOS utility in Windows (or Linux). It doesn't work if you try to do it through the BIOS directly. As you would with a USB Flash drive and standard BIOS update.

Thank you for the in site. I cannot get the asus winflash utility to work on my computer. it needs some driver that I am unable to find. I have pretty much tried all options I have found. and seeing as how the bios 2 is functioning 100% and I see no issues then it must just be bios 1 that is my issue. I have so far been unable to get the flashback to work either. it just goes straight to a solid blue light without blinking at all. it is supposed to go to 3 blinks then pause and keep blinking = in progress, or 5 blinks and go solid = failed. mine just goes solid with no blinks.. I have tried multiple flash drives including the one provided with the mobo that has the older bios on it as well.

In an attempt to get the flashback working I have done as other posts instructed, disabled PCIE slots, all of them (physically disconnect them at the switch(mobo has pcie disconnect switches)), removed all dimms, and just left 1. still same issue.
