Should i upgrade my current cpu which is the i5 3470 to a i5 8600k or a ryzen 5 2600x?
Would there be a noticeable change in gaming performance?

i'm looking to play monster hunter world. I play gta 5. Abit of dota 2 and fortnite every now and then but i will be probably playing alot more of the new games like AC : odyssey

There's no issues at all but i am just worried that i wont be able to run some of the new games

do you think 8gb is enough or should i get a 16gb for ram?

Odessey does not run well at all on qaud cores no matter how good.
The 8600k is a bit better for gaming but considering how ridiculous the prices are getting for it the ryzen might be the better choice.
8gb is enough if you are only gaming and not have many other things open in the background (a webbrowser with a couple tabs,...)
Do realize you'll also need a new motherboard and ram.
