Hello everyone, I am writing from Italy, forgive me if I make any grammar mistakes.

I have a problem with the access control of the WI-FI network, when I enter the approved MACs of the devices, they connect without problems only that if the smartphone or any wireless device disable the WI-FI to reactivate the phone is no longer able to detect the modem signal and need to re-enter the SSID and password each time to reconnect it.

To overcome this problem I should disable the wireless access control to remedy the problem, but since I have always been a person who is careful about security I would still keep the access control of the devices.

The modem / router was given to me by my manager and is the only one compatible with the optical fiber (FTTC) here in Italy, the only one to support the 35b profile, because unfortunately we are forced to use it if we want to take advantage of the optical fiber.

Does anyone know if it's a bug or is there some advanced settings?

MAC filtering provides very little additional security and I don't recommend using it. Same with not broadcasting the SSID. Just causes more problems than it solves.
Using WPA2 with a strong password, which you change at least every 180 days. Disable WPS. Have a strong password on your admin login to the router. Those will protect your network. MAC filtering or SSID hiding just make hard to debug IMO.

Hi kanewolf and thank you for your reply.

I thought that by entering the access control I was 99% protected. I know that you can clone the mac but nevertheless I see it as a greater security.

The WIFI password is personalized and has about 60 characters.

As long as you have disabled WPS, and use WPA2 that password is as good as possible. There are web pages on how to break into MAC whitelisted WIFI. Cloning a MAC address is trivial. But it is your network and if you believe you are benefiting, the go for it. But you are having problems because of it. So it doesn't seem as though you benefit.

Sorry if I change the subject, but how can you clone a MAC address if you do not know it? (I've never tried it  )

I'm not sure it's 100% safe, but I thought it because I saw it as a block big enough to get around.

No mine was a general question. Absolutely, I do not want to encourage anyone to hack.
