Hey,

Quick question for you all.

I currently have a 4k monitor I play games on and I am looking at getting one of Acer's new ones. I just want to know how much of a performance impact having a 2nd idle display has.

If I keep my current monitor off to the side but still hooked up to basically just have windows/browsers up and game specifically on the other one, will it impact gaming performance at all?

Gaming video will be unaffected, providing you keep your game confined to just one screen. I have had problems with the mouse cursor wanting to leave some games for the other screen. Perhaps this is just with some old games that I play.

This won't be notisable i have almost the same setup but with a 21:9 ultrawide 3660:1440p monitor with a second on but not really doing anything but have a musicvideo or something running and sometimes even netflix and it doesn't really impact my game performance (it isn't notiseble) and netflix is pretty heavy on a pc's ram and ofcourse network connection.
so if you are going to run more than netflix on your seccond monitor than you won't see or feel the differents. (altough this may have a little more impact with 8gb of ram or less even more, but with less than 6gb i won't recommend watching netflix and gaming on the same time).
I hope this answers your qeustion and giving a solution helps people very much. ;-) ;-) ;-)
