C: is corrupted and unreadable

Hello. I turned my pc on and an awkward restoration screen (never saw it before) appeared. After it seemed like the problem was fixed and the pc initialized, i figured out a alert message on the notification tool, advising that the :C drive was corrupted and unreadable. As it turns out, some stored programs (like games and otherwise) crash when i try to use them and it cannot unnistal any of them, neither install new programs or download anything. Am I cornered? I can't even download a new OS in order to be able to format the disk, nor can I download a analyzing program. How can I fix this?
P.S.: My grandmother unplugged it (from power) in the previous night, and I only had the chance to turn on the pc by now.
Thank you in advance.

* I3, no VGA, 4gb ram processor, doens't know about the hard drives situation (the pc was given to me and no one told me about them)
