MOBO: Asus Z97-A
CPU: Intel i5 4690K
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1070 Ti Black Edition
RAM: 2 x 8gig Crucial Balistix
PSU: Corsair CT500W
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
DISPLAYS: ASUS ROG Swift PG278QR 27” 2560x1440 1ms 165Hz G-SYNC
Samsung U28E590D 28-inch 4k UHD LED Monitor

Got a new GPU today, as well as a new monitor (the ASUS above, with the Samsung being my 2nd)

Booted up Witcher 3 and saw some weird artifacts popping up, especially in darker areas like caves.

-Strange box-shaped artifacts appear on occasion, typically on the top-left of the screen in connection with an in-game shape.

-In a cave, there's a line of the rain droplet effects that traces across the screen and will follow the character as I move him.

What i've tried:
fresh install of nvidia drivers

disabling gsync

Using a different monitor.

I've played the game extensively before upgrading my GPU and there was no artifact. What should I try next?

1) You should monitor the GPU temps and make sure that it isn't overheating.
2) Try another displayport cable and another displayport GPU output.
3) Try another PSU.

Your PSU's model is wrong. Corsair doesn't have a CT500W model. If you mean CX 500W with the green logo outside, then you should definitely test your system with another PSU, since that PSU's quality and capability are questionable. Good luck.

Thank you for the excellent feedback.

-I ordered a EVGA - 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply and will update after I install it.
-GPU Temp is right around 70 when gaming in Witcher 3 on max
-I don't have another DisplayPort cord, but will try it on the other two slots in the GPU.
