Ok, I guess I wasn't clear enough the first time, so lets try this again.
If you lay the motherboard on the sheet metal, ANY sheet metal, where you want to mount it, and use a sharpie or other marking device such as a scribe point or pencil to precisely mark the standoff hole locations on the sheet metal by putting the tip of the marking device through the hole and making a mark.
Then, you will need to drill holes where those marks are. You will need to drill the holes exactly one size smaller than the actual size you need. You will need to obtain a thread tap of the same size and thread pitch as the threads on the bottoms of the standoffs. You will need to tap the holes you drilled using the taps and then thread the standoffs into the newly tapped holes.
Then you can lay the motherboard on top of the standoffs and screw in the motherboard mounting screws through the holes in the motherboard and into the standoffs.
If that is not understandable then I suggest that perhaps this phase of the project might be better farmed out to a fabrication shop or possibly a sheet metal or HVAC service person who could certainly do that part for you.
