I bought new main board for my PC.
It is q87m-e with 1150 CPU socket.

I didn't noticed that my CPU has 1155 socket, and I installed it somehow to my new mobo.
I know it was stupid decision, because I noticed that it doesn't fit my mobo at all, but anyway I tried to set everything up and tried to boot my pc.
Of course it didn't work, after pressing power button nothing happend.

I realized that it was stupid decision. I ordered new 4th gen intel's cpu with 1150 socket for my new mobo. Pins on my mobo are okey. I don't care about my old CPU, but is it possible that I fried my new mobo?

The converse should most probably be true.
Like Using a incompatible CPU with a MOBO can cause the CPU to be fried and the MOBO can get damaged too.

You see the socket pins are designed to pass currents of specific voltages to the respective points. So passing worng voltage can cause Damage, which can result in frying etc..

Thanks for your answer. I don't care about CPU, I actually ordered new one. I only hope that mobo still works, because I don't want to spend another $$$ for a new mobo. Of course it is my fault, but I wish it still works.
The green light on my mobo is still lightning on green color (that means that it receives power) and also I don't see any fried areas.
