Screen or Graphics Processor failed on Smartphone?

I have a Smasung Galaxy J3 that drowned. After cleaning and drying it out it beeps, charges, takes pictures etc. But the screen doens't work. I was thinking of getting another screen but I was wondering whether it was the graphics processor that quit. How do I know???
Can I somehow hook up an external display?

The CPU and graphics are all one chip on a cell phone so it is unlikely JUST the graphics failed. It is possible some component on the phone motherboard failed which is related to the screen, but it is more likely the screen itself failed.

Is there any way I test whether the screen failed without hooking up a new screen?
