I currently have this problem of choosing the right ram.

Mobo: Aorus B450 Pro Wifi
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600

Choices:
16GB(dual) - 3000MHz - F4-3000C16D-16GTZR - G.SKILL @ $180
16GB(dual) - 3200MHz - F4-3200C16D-16GTZRX - G. SKILL @ $226

The later has this "Optimized for the AMD Ryzen" tagged to it. :pt1cable:
Is the "built for AMD"ness and the 200MHz of the RX sticks really worth the $46 difference?

Ryzen is very sensitive to what kind of IC chips are used on memory. The best IC chips are from Samsung. Ryzen does have problems with Hynix and Micron IC's over 2666+ where more fiddling of the bios is required compared to Samsung to get them running. They can run just more hassles.

1st option 16GB(dual) - 3000MHz - F4-3000C16D-16GTZR - G.SKILL @ $180 uses Hynix.
2nd option don't know. It is not listed below using Samsung but it might if it says optimised for Ryzen. When memory manufacturers found out Ryzen is more compatible with Samsung they hiked the price. Oh well nothing you can do but blame Hynix/Micron.

It is worth paying extra for memory using Samsung IC chips.

Pay attention to the list's below and get ram accordingly using Samsung.

This ram is more or less the same. For compatibility check your Motherboard QVL also 200MHz is close to nothing.
Try to find something like : CMD16GX4M2B3000C15 - CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM DIMM KIT 16GB its the same price and it's samsung b-die

Ryzen 2 & the b450 chipset has nowhere near the amount of latency issues that ryzen gen 1 had.

B450 boards also will, all be running the latest agesa code,so memory compatibility itself is also pretty much a non issue.

$46 for maybe 3fps extra in the most extreme scenario paired with a very high end card ?

No , absolutely not worth it.

I agree most of the problems regarding ram has been addressed but i still wouldn't trust it if it was me buying ram for Ryzen. $46 if it's because they are Samsung Bdie is not much and imo is more about assurity rather than performance.

If you have the money go for the faster ram. Also more stable even though as other people have stated... MOST of those issues have been fixed. That being said might as well have faster ram and hope that AMD continues to optimize the bios and allow for more stable ram OC. IMO the $46 does not create a large difference now but may do so in the future. Totally you call though.
