I sent in my gigabyte motherboard for RMA and they sent it back saying they had fixed it. (I will call tomorrow for details to see what they fixed)

I did the paperclip test on the PSU and it worked just fine. (Does the psu passing the test means theres nothing wrong with the PSU?)

I'm not sure what else I can do to check for diagnostics so any input is much appreciated.

CPU - Intel - Core i7-6700K 4GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU cooler - CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler

Motherboard - Gigabyte - GA-Z170X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Memory - G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory

Storage - PNY - CS1311 480GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
- Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video card - EVGA - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Founders Edition Video Card

Power supply - EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Side note: a day before my pc stopped turning on, I downloaded a newer update for gigabyte bios through gigabyte servers and it worked fine that day. It was the following day when the pc stopped turning on. It's the reason why I sent the motherboard for rma cuz I thought this is what stopped my pc from turning on but they gave it back to me yesterday saying it had minor issues. Is it possible that downloading that update on bios affected my other parts?

Most common issue is RAM not seated properly. Could be hundreds of things but i have found this is the most common issue, can you ensure your RAM is clicked into the DIMM slots properly (and in the right slots per the manual if your not using them all).

And if they are then list your specs as requested above, need all the info per my signature to help further.

The paper-clip test only proves that the PSU is not dead - - - it doesn't prove that it will work under load (ie when it has to provide enough power for everything in your system) --- especially if it's inadequate for that system or if it's a cheap, generic one.

That's why it's crucial you post full system specs with these types of issues.

@norcalsc didnt mean to down vote you. I couldnt find how to reply back in here through comments. I also added the system specs.

@jay.wooster I'll check that when I get home from work.

@phillip thanks for that info, will i need to plug in the power supply to a different pc to check because I dont have a spare pc or is there a different way to check if the battery is fine?
